The globally renowned cannabis brand, Cookies, is set to make its highly anticipated East Coast flagship debut in the nation’s capital on July 11 at 4:20 PM, located at 1115 U Street NW. It’s a significant moment for D.C.’s burgeoning cannabis economy as the first well known national brand to partner with local businesses to release products in the legal market.

The launch party will feature 420 free concert tickets to the first customers who purchase products. The concert will be headlined by Noochie best known for his “Front Porch Freestyle” sessions which have featured local grown HipHop legends like Fat Trel to household names like Snoop Dogg. The show will also feature Anna Mvze, 4K Tommy, RaySoRaw, Pearlz and DJ Trini. To amplify local voices, Cookies DC hosted a citywide talent contest to giving three local performers the opportunity to showcase their music during the grand opening.

A Blend of Global Brand and Local Roots

Founded by Bay Area rapper and entrepreneur Berner, Cookies gained international recognition for its innovative genetics, distinctive packaging, and profound cultural influence within the cannabis space. Bringing the brand to life in D.C. is James Kahn, a native Washingtonian and seasoned industry leader whose family also owns Takoma Wellness Center, the city’s longest-operating dispensary. This partnership with local craft cultivator Alternative Solutions (AtlSol) promises to deliver Cookies’ signature quality with a strong local connection.

“D.C.’s cannabis industry is in an exciting period of transition,” says Kahn. “Having a nationally recognized brand like Cookies grown by local talent confirms D.C. as a major destination for cannabis culture, business, and tourism.”

Berner, co-founder and CEO of Cookies, shared his enthusiasm: “Opening our first Cookies store in our nation’s capital is a dream come true and hopefully, one more step towards legalizing cannabis nationwide. Our D.C.-based partners are dialed-in to the community and incredibly well respected.”

In addition to the musical acts, guests will enjoy Dolcezza Gelato, exclusive swag from Weedmaps, and opportunities to learn more about D.C.’s regulated cannabis program. Customers must be 21 or older with a valid ID.

Cookies DC is also set to be the first on the East Coast to debut the brand’s ‘Cookies 2.0’ Flower Tub packaging, an elevated design aimed at maintaining freshness and offering a premium, collectible aesthetic.
