The Maryland Cannabis Administration says it has learned of unannounced Drug Enforcement Administration inspections at cannabis businesses, which the agency believes are tied to those businesses’ applications for DEA registration. MCA says it is not currently aware of any such inspections taking place in Maryland.
The agency is encouraging licensees and industry stakeholders with questions to reach out to rescheduling.mca@maryland.gov or complete a survey to share information related to recent federal cannabis policy changes.
MCA reiterated that Maryland law remains fully in effect and unchanged, and that state licensing and enforcement will continue as set by the Maryland General Assembly regardless of federal developments. Businesses that opt not to register with the DEA will not face any action from MCA as a result.
