The Maryland Cannabis Administration (MCA) is preparing to host two upcoming events aimed at shaping state regulatory policy and expanding career development opportunities across Maryland’s legal cannabis sector.
The state regulatory agency will hold a virtual educational webinar focused on rule-making procedures, followed by an in-person industry hiring event designed to connect licensed cannabis businesses with job candidates.
Demystifying the Rule-Making Process
As part of its ongoing Summer Session Series, the MCA will host a public webinar titled The Regulatory Process on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at 4:00 PM EDT.
The session is designed to walk industry participants—particularly new licensees—through the agency’s policy lifecycle. Representatives from the agency will detail each phase of regulatory development, including early stakeholder engagement, initial drafting, policy refinement, formal public comment periods, and final administrative adoption. Attendees will also receive practical guidance on how to submit public feedback to inform future state regulations.
Registration for the session closes on Monday, August 24, 2026, at 5:00 PM EDT. Stakeholders seeking further information or possessing policy inquiries can contact the agency directly at mca.policy@maryland.gov.
Connecting Licensees with Skilled Jobseekers
Later in the fall, the MCA’s Workforce Initiatives and Strategic Partnerships Division will hold the Cannabis Industry Workforce Development Conference on Wednesday, October 10, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM EDT at the Maryland Innovation Center.
The event serves as an intermediary platform connecting job-ready candidates with licensed operators in Maryland’s adult-use and medical market. Participating licensees will have the opportunity to host dedicated tables at the career fair, interview pre-screened applicants on site, observe active workforce development training sessions, and network with regional industry peers.
Licensed business operators interested in reserving a table or participating in the fair must register their interest by emailing mca.workforcedevelopment@maryland.gov by September 7, 2026.
