Scott Cecil has been active in the drug policy reform movement and harm reduction movements for a decade, working with various organizations such as Baltimore Harm Reduction Coalition, Minority Cannabis Business Association, Students for Sensible Drug Policy, Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies, and the Drug Reform Coordination Network. He is the Co-founder of Repair Now, a non-profit organization which provides resources to formerly incarcerated people seeking expungement and the reestablishment of lost voting rights. In 2019, he was elected to the City Council in Mount Rainier Maryland to a four-year term, winning more than 90 percent of the votes cast, where he focuses primarily on government accountability & transparency, and lowest law enforcement priority decriminalization.
