The Alcoholic Beverage and Cannabis Administration (ABCA) successfully closed down another unlicensed cannabis business in the District. Flight Pass/Green Room, located at 1338 U Street, NW, was shuttered after authorities found the establishment operating in violation of a Cease and Desist Order.

The ABCA, along with the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), served a Closure Order to the business owner on Sept. 25. The decision to close the business came after the agency determined that it posed a significant threat to public health and safety.

During the closure, authorities discovered a substantial amount of illegal cannabis products, including cannabis, edibles, wax, capsules, vape cartridges, oil, and mushrooms. While no arrests were made at the time, the investigation into the business remains ongoing.

A little over 3lbs of cannabis and an 1/8 of a lb of “entheogenic” mushrooms were confiscated.

The closure of Flight Pass/Green Room marks the fifth such action taken by the ABCA since the passage of Bill 25-872, which granted the agency new enforcement powers. Other businesses that have been closed include Supreme Turpene, Green Cloud Shop, All American Papers, and StonerzDC.

The ABCA has been actively working to crack down on unlicensed cannabis businesses in the District. To date, the agency has issued 26 Cease and Desist Orders and 84 written warning letters to businesses operating illegally. However, they report over one hundred gifting stores are still operating.
