On December 23, 2024, the Alcoholic Beverage and Cannabis Administration (ABCA) and the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), closed and padlocked “All the Buzz DC,” an unlicensed cannabis retailer operating at 3232 Georgia Ave NW. This action stemmed from the business’s continued operation despite lacking the necessary licenses.
All the Buzz DC received its first warning in March of 2023 and a finalized cease and desist this summer. The owners had a ABC Board hearing in July that resulted in a dismissed closure order. The board had found that they “had ceased all cannabis, hemp, THC, and CBD activity at the premises while their application is pending and other testimony regarding their operations.” The businesses was recently denied an extension for their legal license application, and after was found to have broken their cease and desist.
During the operation, which also involved MPD’s Violent Crime Suppression Division, authorities conducted a search and seized a substantial cache of illegal cannabis products. The seizure included over 26 pounds of cannabis, more than 35 pounds of THC-infused edibles, 325.5 grams of THC vape cartridges, 176 grams of entheogenic mushroom edibles and 68 grams of THC wax.
The owners of “All the Buzz DC” retain the right to request a hearing before the ABC Board. Furthermore, property owners may be required to submit a remediation plan to the Board for approval, outlining measures to prevent future illegal cannabis activity on the premises. Failure to comply with these requirements could result in substantial fines, reaching up to $10,000 per property owner.
This closure marks the seventeenth such enforcement action taken by authorities since the passage of Bill 25-872 in July 2024. Prior to this operation, ABCA had issued 41 Cease and Desist Orders and 97 warning letters to unlicensed cannabis businesses operating within the District.
